We begin the day with an early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park before continuing our journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ngorongoro is a unique destination unlike a national park, it is a conservation area, meaning both wildlife and the local Maasai people coexist harmoniously. The Maasai graze their cattle alongside the diverse range of wild animals that inhabit this extraordinary ecosystem.
Along the way, we will visit Olduvai Gorge, an important archaeological site located in the eastern Serengeti plains, where some of the earliest human fossils were discovered. The area offers spectacular landscapes that inspired the Maasai to name it Siringeti, meaning “endless plains.” After completing entry formalities at the Ngorongoro gate, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about this fascinating volcanic region and its geological history.

After breakfast, we begin our full-day exploration inside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, often called “Africa’s Garden of Eden.” This natural wonder is home to over 25,000 animals, including black rhinos, lions, elephants, and flamingos. Enjoy a full day of game viewing with a picnic lunch at the hippo pool before returning to your lodge for a relaxing evening by the fire.

On this day, your safari adventure begins early. After a quick breakfast, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater at around 8:30 AM to explore its magnificent floor. During your five-hour game drive, expect to witness an abundance of wildlife and thrilling animal activity so be sure to keep your camera ready! The crater is home to a remarkable variety of species, including African elephants, buffaloes, black rhinos, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, and lions in impressive numbers. After enjoying a delicious picnic lunch at the scenic Hippo Pool, you will begin the steep ascent to the top of the crater rim. From there, you’ll journey back to Arusha, spend the night resting before your departure home tomorrow.
